The Power of Ultimate Softness: The Highest Good is Like Water

December 23,2025

Many are aware that during a year of "Offending the Tai Sui" (the Horse, Rat, Rabbit, and Ox in 2026), one must worship the Tai Sui to resolve the conflict. However, few realize that after this worship, one must also "Return Thanks to the Tai Sui" (謝太歲) at the year's end.

Our ability to pass through the year in safety and smoothness is inseparable from the protection of the Tai Sui Deity. Therefore, we should perform the ritual of gratitude to thank the Tai Sui Star Lord for his divine grace and guardianship throughout the past year.

A Cycle of Vow and Fulfillment Returning Thanks (Xie Tai Sui) and Worshipping (Bai Tai Sui) form a complete spiritual cycle, similar to the relationship between making a vow and fulfilling a vow before the divine.

However, fulfilling a vow is not necessarily limited to material offerings. For instance, if one vowed to help sentient beings to the best of their ability, the fulfillment of that vow is simply to be a virtuous person and treat others with kindness.

Worshipping the Tai Sui is akin to making a prayer for the presiding Star Lord's protection, while Thanking the Tai Sui is the act of offering gratitude upon fulfillment. This constitutes a sacred dialogue between humanity and the divine.

The Transition of the Generals Generally, the Returning Thanks ritual is performed after the Winter Solstice and before the Beginning of Spring.

In early 2026, we ceremonially thank General Wu Sui (the deity of the Yi-Si Year) for his year-long protection, and reverently petition General Wen Zhe (the presiding deity of the incoming Bing-Wu Year) for his guardianship.

The 2026 Ceremony Following the thousand-year orthodox Taoist rituals, Grand Master in Purple Robes, Wang Luohai of Longhu Mountain, will construct the altar and perform the sacred rites to dispel disaster and resolve adversity for all believers.

On February 4, 2026, he will initiate the "Pacify the Tai Sui Blessing Ceremony." We sincerely invite benevolent believers from all ten directions to share in this divine grace, resolve calamities, and welcome auspicious blessings.
